This young athlete has impressive online audience
The young golfer will have numerous well-known cheerleaders when she begins her first LPGA appearance this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be connected to a former US president, obtained a tournament invitation to participate at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
The former president, someone who loves golf, owns several international courses and regularly competes against his granddaughter.
"He's quite skilled. I can't say much but we play tight competitions," she revealed.
Kai explained that her grandfather, unable to come, told her: "Simply don't get nervous."
"My grandpa essentially suggested to compete and enjoy myself," she added.
"To me, he's simply an ordinary family member. He won't be there this weekend. He's occupied with running the country, making him quite busy."
Being non-professional, the golfer has competed in just three tournaments this year and has ranking 461 in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
But she's able to receive tips from Tiger Woods, who is dating Vanessa.
"He stands as the best player worldwide," Kai stated.
"And he's a superior person. He advised me to go out there, enjoy myself, adapting to the flow."
The golfer will compete against multiple the biggest names in professional golf at the competition, such as world number two the champion, England's golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
Tournament organizers commented that her participation helps introduce golf to wider groups, especially with youth audiences.
The social media influencer boasts a massive following and has started an exclusive apparel and wellness label.
The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
