The children's author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Best-selling young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the company stated: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was taken subsequent to an review of claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.

The publisher declined to specify the reasons for its decision, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, having sold in excess of 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

He has published more than 40 books combined, which features a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
