Palestinian-American Teenager Released Following 270 Days in Israeli Detention

A American-Palestinian adolescent who spent a nine-month period in imprisonment by Israel without charge was released.
The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 during his detention this past winter throughout the West Bank territory, during a family visit while residing in Florida under suspicion of rock throwing against settlement residents, which he previously denied.
American diplomatic officials expressed satisfaction with the news of Mohammed's release.
Now sixteen years old, required hospitalization for treatment immediately after release, family members reported.
According to them, he appears showing signs of malnutrition, and experiencing medical problems contracted in captivity.
Via family representatives, Mohammed's uncle spoke of the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".
Family member Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" during the entire detention period.
"Right now, we are focused on ensuring Mohammed receives prompt healthcare necessary for his recovery following exposure to Israel's abuse and cruel circumstances over several months."
US officials stated they would maintain to provide consular support to Mohammed's family.
{"American leadership has no higher priority than the safety and security of US citizens"," the department emphasized.
A group of American legislators submitted a formal letter to US authorities and the White House, requesting additional efforts for his freedom.
Mr Ibrahim, a father-of-four operating an ice cream shop in Florida, previously said his child admitted guilt about rock throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.
The father hadn't visited nor direct contact since the arrest, receiving updates exclusively regarding the treatment through judicial records.
Mohammed was held absent formal charges in Ofer prison in the West Bank.
Additionally housing mature inmates, including individuals found guilty of serious terrorism offences and murder.
There are around 350 Palestinian minors in security custody being held in Israeli jails, per correctional service statistics.
Several lack formal charges while advocacy organizations, including UN bodies, document cases involving mistreatment and torture.
Following Mohammed's release, family representatives announced relatives would persist in advocating seeking justice for their relative their cousin Sayfollah.
The dual national youth according to health authorities was beaten to death by Israeli settlers during a confrontation during summer.

The two cousins were employed together within the family's frozen treats establishment in Tampa, Florida.
No charges have been filed regarding Sayfollah's death.
