Chalobah Poised to Step in for Marc Guehi in England National Team
Trevoh Chalobah followed his brother Nathaniel in playing for England, becoming the twenty-first duo of siblings to be selected for the England side.
Trevoh Chalobah is set to link up with the England squad to replace unavailable Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old footballer is due to meet up with the national side for England's last World Cup qualifying matches against Serbia and Albania, although it has still not been made public.
The national side have already booked their place for next summer's tournament.
Chalobah received his maiden call-up under England manager Thomas Tuchel in the month of May and then played his first game against the Senegalese team.
In the month of September, Tuchel remarked Chalobah was unfortunate to be left out from the selection for qualifying games against Andorra and Serbia, and also did not select him for the subsequent October international break.
Tuchel has been an significant presence in Chalobah's career, having handed him his Chelsea first appearance in 2021.
Chalobah has featured in almost every matches for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the club in third place in the Premier League, in the Carabao Cup last eight and in the group stage of the Champions League.
Guehi suffered a foot injury in Crystal Palace's Conference League victory over AZ Alkmaar recently.
There are expected to be further call-ups to the squad. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has confirmed that both attacker Anthony Gordon (hip) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) are set to pull out from the squad.
